A vital part of Ultimate Success Pro is The Success Experiment, and if you haven’t read why that is the case, you might want to Start Here.
The Success Experiment is a live experiment of how (well) the Diamond Cutter System works.
What other way to test out the Diamond Cutter System, or also known as the DCI principles, then to apply the principles in real life?
So I will document my journey—and how it all began—with the Diamond Cutter System.
By documenting my journey, what I mean is that I will share my insights and progress from applying the DCI LifeTools & principles I have learned during my training at the Sedona College of International Management (SCIM) as well as through three key books,
What I will NOT be doing is give a training of any sorts on every DCI LifeTool and principles especially since it's copyrighted material, intellectual property of the Diamond Cutter Institute. But I will introduce briefly, if appropriate, the DCI LifeTool and principles in context when the time calls for it, and I will definitely direct you to the official source if you'd like to learn more about it.
If you would like to learn more about it right now, you can visit the Diamond Cutter Institute website as well as get your hands on 3 books by the founder of DCI, Geshe Michael Roach, that have inspired and benefitted me tremendously.
1. The Diamond Cutter—The Buddha On Managing Your Business And Your Life
2. Karmic Management: What Goes Around Comes Around in Your Business and Your Life
3. The Karma of Love: 100 Answers for Your Relationship, from the Ancient Wisdom of Tibet
Disclaimer: While Karma of Love is a book that provides answers for our relationships in life, which apply not just to our romantic but also to personal and professional relationships, many of the principles in the book are exceptionally useful and applicable to this experiment.
Disclaimer
When I bought this website on 18 August 2016, I have already been learning the DCI principles for about a year. I’ve experienced successes since, such as
- Mending my strained relationships with my Dad (which is a huge breakthrough in my life) & my Mum
- Losing almost 6kg in 2 months without much exercise
- Becoming an international public speaker with DiamondX (a division of DCI of the DCI principles)
and many smaller successes.
As I’ve only applied the principles diligently to my relationships and my health, I thought, why am I not applying it to my work? And finances?
And most importantly, the kind of success that is lasting, that helps and builds people up along the way, that creates purpose, meaning and a positive and tangible impact on the world. The kind of impact that starts from us; that puts the power and the responsibility in our own hands.
Getting Started with The Success Experiment
According to the Karmic Management book, there’s the “looks real level” and “is-real level”, which in other words, the experiment will cover both the surface causes and deeper causes (which the Diamond Cutter System takes care of) that creates the success.
And with every experiment, we need goals in order to track progress and whether or not this system is really “a surefire recipe for success”.
The goals of course have to be
- Specific
- Measurable
- Attainable
- Realistic
- Time-limited
You can read more on SMART goals here.
The Goals of The Success Experiment
When I first conceived of this idea, there are 3 broad goals I have in mind:
Goal 1: Financial Success
Goal 2: Owning a passive-income lifestyle business
Goal 3: Become a best-selling author
But these are not “SMART” goals just as yet, in other words, it would be more helpful if each of the above goal is clarified or broken down into smaller goals.
So for the purpose of starting the experiment a step at a time, I will first put the Diamond Cutter System to test with 2 of smaller goals I have first, and progressively more goals (under the umbrella of the 3 broad goals above) will be added on when the first two are achieved
Goal 1: Financial Success (With a total of 4 smaller goals)
Smaller goal #1: Make consistent four-figure monthly income from US$1800 from June 2019
Goal 2: Owning A Passive Income Lifestyle Business (With a total of 3 smaller goals)
Smaller goal #1: Launch the business by end of 2019
The Parameters of The Success Experiment
Well I’ve always been told it takes 3-5 years for a business to stabilise, so I’m going to give it 3-5 years. Meaning at the 3rd year mark, we will do a stock take of goals achieved and again at the 5th year mark.
1. Experiment start date: 1 January 2019
2. Time frame for this experiment: 3 to 5 years
3rd year stock take date: 31 December 2021
5th year stock take date: 31 December 2023
3. Let’s determine what does success mean before I dive straight into the experiment
Scenario 1
If I don’t achieve any of the goals above after applying all the principles laid out in the 2 books, then this system doesn’t work.
But if I didn’t achieve any of the goals above because I didn’t apply all the principles, then the system probably works but I didn’t do a good job.
So until then, I can review what I’ve done, areas for improvement, etc, and decide whether to refine or restart the experiment.
Scenario 2
If I achieve any one of goals above after applying all the principles laid out in the 2 books, then this system works. But again, not being able to achieve all of the goal above is a reason to investigate what went wrong then. And deserves a proper review of I’ve done and could have done better and to decide whether to refine or restart the experiment.
Scenario 3
If I achieve all 3 goals by the set time frame, then this system is as what the book says, “a surefire recipe for success”.
But of course, it’s a living experiment so goals might need some refining as we progress, or I might have to refine the parameters as time progress. But key really is putting the DCI principles to the test; can I achieve the 3 goals above using this “surefire recipe for success”?
Ready? Get Set, Go!
You’re welcome to root for me as I navigate my path to success with the Diamond Cutter System/DCI Principles.
But before you even do that, you might be thinking What on Earth are DCI Principles? Once you’re all caught up on what they are, you might be curious enough to find out how this guinea pig, yours truly, is fairing with this success experiment.
Is this an ultimate failure or a surefire recipe for success?
Will I succeed ultimately?
Come find out.
