[Starting a Successful Blog] Lesson 14

In this post, we're going to create a main navigation menu on your blog so your visitors knows their way around.

We're making it easy for them to stay!

 

Main Navigation Menu

So you've created your About Page, your contact form & page and you want them to appear on your homepage. This section, you will learn how to create a main navigation menu.

Create Menu

TO DO:

  1. Click on "Appearance" and click on "Menus".
  2. Click on "create a new menu".
  3. Name your menu.
  4. Select your pages you want to appear on your menu and click on "Add to Menu".
  5. You can reorder the appearance of the pages by dragging & dropping.
Save Menu

Most importantly, you need your menu to appear on your homepage! So select "Header Menu" for the display location.

Finally, save your menu!

 

ALRIGHT! Pretty good for a beginner! Now you can take another break since you've learned how to create forms, add new pages, and add them to your main navigation.

You may have realized that I have way more pages added to my navigation.

So during your break until the next lesson, you might want to think about whether or not you want to add more pages to your main navigation too.
