I’ve been learning the DCI System for almost 3 years now and I’ve attended 3 sessions of the Sedona College of International Management in the US.
In gist, the DCI System tells us that we can plant seeds in our mind to achieve any goal in our personal and professional life. And that’s by giving what we want to someone who wants a similar thing.
The foundation of the DCI System is understanding the ancient idea of emptiness — that things do not come from themselves. They do not have a self-existing nature. Everything around us comes from a mental seed in our mind that is planted that through what we’ve thought, said and done in the past
By understanding where everything comes from, which according to the DCI System is the mental seeds we’ve planted, we are now empowered to transform our life precisely because we understand that since it doesn’t come from its own side and it comes from mental seeds, we can plant the right seeds we want to see blossom in our life.
If you understand how to plant a seed, you can plant money, you can plant a beautiful partner, you can plant a healthy body. So what will happen if you use this new system? Every time you want something in your life, you just plant it. – Geshe Michael Roach, President of the Diamond Cutter Institute
So the next question is, how do I apply this concept into real life?
Using The Four Steps | DCI System
We use The Four Steps from the DCI System for seeds to grow big and ripen fast.
The Four Steps
1. Decide what you want in a single sentence
2. Choose someone who wants a similar thing
3. Do it! Help this person once a week
4. Coffee Meditate!!! Be happy about what you did
You can read more about the DCI principles in the following 2 books:
The Diamond Cutter
The now classic work on Buddhism and business from the foremost American teacher of Tibetan Buddhism — reissued in a tenth anniversary edition with compelling case studies that showcase its principles in action around the globe.
With a unique combination of ancient and contemporary wisdom from Tibetan Buddhism, THE DIAMOND CUTTER presents readers with empowering strategies for success in their personal and professional lives.
Karma of Love
This is a relationship book unlike any one you ve ever seen. An American monk who spent 25 years in Tibetan monasteries shares ancient secrets on how to find a partner, keep them, and achieve lasting happiness together.
The book consists of answers to 100 questions asked by audiences all over the world during decades of his teachings on the Karma of Love. What’s the karma to get my husband to hug me? To get my wife interested in sex again? Can I use karma to stop my girlfriend from texting other guys? Is it possible for physical intimacy to be spiritual? How can we use our relationship to help the world?
The answers to the 100 questions are drawn from the teachings of The Diamond Cutter, which is the oldest dated printed book in the world. Michael Roach, the first American in history to receive the coveted Tibetan title of Geshe, or Master of Buddhism, applies the world-changing ideas of his international bestselling personal success book also called The Diamond Cutter to every aspect of our relationship: trust, communication, addictions, fun, in-laws, sex, peace, self-esteem, and many others.”
Does The DCI System Even Work?
More than 25,000 people around the world have used it and many can share with you their success stories.
Personally I’ve used it and seen results in interpersonal relationships and it’s also one reason why my financial mess hasn’t gotten into a financial meltdown.
So no this is not a series to preach to you so that you’ll use this system.
But if you are already familiar to this system but you’re not actively using it, I am challenging you right now.
From now until the end of 2018, decide what you want in a single sentence. Set a specific and measurable goal.
If you’re new to this system, set ONE specific and measurable goal and USE ALL Four Steps.
The Four Steps recap
1. Decide what you want in a single sentence
2. Choose someone who wants a similar thing
3. Do it! Help this person once a week
4. Coffee Meditate!!! Be happy about what you did
Let it be your experiment.
As for me?
My Bombastic Dreams
Having attended DCI levels 1 through 9 (Level 9 is the latest level as of date), I have learnt more tools than just The Four Steps.
My dream from now until the end of this year is to become financially free-independent-successful. And my biggest dream is to become a best-selling author as I mentioned in my previous post.
They don’t sound really bombastic, do they?
Which is why, in my future posts, in this series, may not be as logical or informative as this one.
They are going to be a documentation of what I want, what I admire, what I appreciate and so forth. I’m going to plant seeds through my thoughts but expressing them in blog posts so that I can always come back to it and feel happy about my dreams. Then I finally have a documentation, something more concrete than abstract images and voices in my head.
Call it a dream board, or a vision board.
In the DCI system, it’s called writing an epic for my bombastic dreams.
