Did you manage to go through the resources and watch the 2 videos? If you haven't had the time, do mark it down on your calendar to get them done soon!
Am sure you've heard of the phrase, "Do it now. Sometimes later becomes never."
Don't let the feeling of procrastination or lethargy from your daily routine, especially after a long day at work postpone your dreams!
Let the desire to break that boring and energy-draining cycle fuel your drive to pursue your dreams now!
After figuring out where you can learn to write and how to charge for your services, the next natural question would be...
How do I get copywriting jobs?
Or where can I find clients?
GREAT QUESTION.
I first ventured into Odesk & Elance... It was really complicated and difficult to navigate then.
Freelancing Platforms
- Upwork (Previously Odesk & Elance, now merged into one)
- Freelancer (Look "Writing & Content")
- Guru
- PeoplePerHour
- Textbroker
- Fiverr (As the name suggests, the services start at $5 and you can choose to upsell later on)
Take your time and browse through these platforms where you can offer your services and also do some market research on the categories and subcategories of "writing" so you can position yourself better according to your interests!
As I am not a fan of using such platforms, I personally went on to Facebook and announced that I was starting out as a copywriter. You won't be surprised that graphic designers and web developers will reach out to you because their clients require copywriting services for their brochures or websites!
And obviously, you will need to show your portfolio and there's none better than having your own blog.
Your blog posts are samples of your written work! Potential clients can simply head over to your blog and read what you've written.
THEN they can contact you through a contact form on your website.
With my website as my portfolio stronghold, I built my copywriting career mainly through word-of-mouth and referrals!
