These days, even as a writer, you can’t just have a blog filled with words and white space.
No way are you going to hold your audience’s attention.
It’s true a picture paints a thousand words, but you can’t just have random pictures slotted randomly between paragraphs of your text.
You need to have images that complement and help you drive your message across to your readers.
Here are 5 websites for royalty-free photos you can use for your content. They are mostly free for commercial use, so I have added links to license info per website so you can have a closer look.
1. Pexels

3. Canva
Canva is one design web app that I’ve been using since they started. The cool thing is they too have millions of high-quality stock photos to use for all your design needs. And their collection includes both premium and free stock photos.
4. Free Range

5. Unsplash

7. Free Stock Photos: 100+ Free (& Nearly Free) Libraries
This is not a stock photo platform but a list of almost 100 free and freemium sources of stock photos.
I personally use Pexels and Pixabay most because I love the style of the photographs. The great thing about these sites are that we can donate to the photographers to support their work!
Enjoy browsing all the beautiful photos!
